Great Keppel Island

I woke up this morning by myself, on time. I told you that I never oversleep. Well I actually slept longer than I wanted but I was not late for the bus. I took a pic of the marvellous restroom in the hostel, gave the receptionist the key and the money and walked to the busstation.
When I was in Rainbow Beach I got rid of at lest 5kg (threw stuff away and senf some stuff home) and I can really feel it that my backpack is lighter.
There was just no one on the street, that was why I put on my headphones and than such an embarassing thing happened. I sang out loud and danced in my best manners, when I suddenly saw two girls coming closer from the distance. I instantly stopped. That wa so embarassing...
I scarcely danced since I'm here Down Under. Maybe that was why I really wanted to dance. Anyway that bus was late, too, only ten minutes though. By public transport I drove 50 min to Yeppoon. Yeppoon looks like all these other towns on the coast: like Mooloolaba or Wollongong... Not the yellow from the egg. But the harbour was fascinating with the big hills on each side. The harbour was really busy; at least four dozen people were ready to board thr ferry.
The boattrip was awesome as the waves were huge and the ferry drove quite fast, we got all shaken up and a few people got really wet. Guess who I met on the ferry? The guy from last night. Apparently he hadn't slept till now.
Again the ferry just settled down at the beach... we climbed out and the hostel staff helped us with the luggage. They took them away from us and brought them to our rooms. I've got a vast room just for myself, there are three more beds but no more guests. It's a bunkhouse, made out of wood and it had a very high seiling. I've got my own bathroom and seriously, there was just no one living in the other bunkhouses. I made myself comfortable, put on my swimmers and went to the beach. For about two hours I sat under that awesome tree, surrounded by more branches who fell off the tree, palmtrees, sand, bush, the ocean and more islands. Life couldn't get any nicer...  The ocean was calm and there was a soft breeze going, while I read my book, listened to some music and drank the delicious mint and lime water I got from the reception. Not many people were there, so it was very quiet, lovely!!! After having some lunch (classic cesar salad) I did the same the whole afternoon. I was sleeping under the tree, though, trying to get the sleep I missed the other night. I couldn't really sleep as there were these massive ants climbing on me all the time and it made me feel ticklish.
When the sun started to set I went for a shower. I decided to go and watch the full suset so I walked to the beach. All by myself I sat there, painted some tribal in the sand, drank more from that water and enjoyed the beautiful sunset. Fot dinner I had some Nachos, straight afterwards I started to feel really tired so I went in my room. Than the adventure started...

Holy Moly
I'm really not a person who gets frightened from snakes or spiders... You have to be cautious and I think as long as you show respect for those animals they won't hurt you. If it happens nevertheless, pitch. I reckon there's no point of being scared all the time. Anyway I entered my room and shortly after I saw this huge ant crawling across the room. Instantly I stood on it. Yes, I killed it. Not thinking any further I tried to grab my pyjamas out of my bag, and there was another one!!! In my backpack!!! So I flicked it out. Disgusted I put my pijama on. When I wanted to grab my toothbrush there was one in my toiletry bag. Oh my god. And they're massive; the small ones about two cm long and the bigger ones about three cm long. In the cupboard next to my bed there were at lest ten of them! More of them crawling on the wall and so on. I got all hysteric because I had them climbing on me when I was sleeping at the beach... Suddenly I grabed my moskito spray and sprayed it on me, hoping that they'd leave me alone whilst I'm sleeping. I was wondering if they're dangerous so I googled 'massive ants'. I've found an article about 'bulldoggenameisen', where they said that they can bite and apparently it hurts more than a wasp sting and it gets as itchy as a mosquito bite. According to the article there were people dying from the bite as they were allergic and I knew I sometimes get those allergic reactions to mosquito or wasp bite/stings. That was the end of me, really, I thought I'm not gonna sleep tonight... Trying to calm myself down I decided to brush my theeth and from now on I would look at my clothes very carefully before I put them on or touch anything. I went outside and headed to the bathroom and there it was: a dark black beetle with this massive body like a ball, it was at least five cm wide and 7cm long. Oh my god... I just felt like crying!!! I knew that that one is not going to hurt me for certain so I got really close and took a picture. I'll upload it as soon as I have WiFi. So I brushed my teeth and went to bed all frightened. Somehow I fell asleep but I woke up in the night twice, because the fire alarm in my room went off and beeped for 20 minutes. At 6.00am it went off again but it hasn't stopped beeping since and we have 11.20am now... The reception takes it's time.............. That was the worst and I slept just awfully again... So since two nights I hadn't had proper sleep!!! You can imagine how I feel now...
