Singapore // Chinatown & Nightlife

After reading a bit I decided to visit Chinatown for dinner. I don't know how big Chinatowns can get in the States but that one was the biggest I've ever seen! Nothing compared to London, Sydney and Melbourne (These I've seen already). So many lights, red paper balloons and more... Heaps of restaurants with not many tourists. I decided to be brave and just sit in one surrounded by fifty or more Asians. I felt kind of uncomfortable because I was the odd one out. I had no idea what to order, there were just photos of meals and scarcely written in English, mostly Chinese. That moment I got really angry because I really wanted to be able to read the Chinese signs! Anyway... I saw rice & egg and ordered that. When the waitress brought me the plate it looked very simple... but it was soooo goood! I have no idea what spices they had put in but it was delicious! With the rice I drank Chinese ice tea which was good, too, as it was not too sweet. Guys seriously I'm in love with Asia... I mean I haven't seen poorer places yet, like Thailand and so on but Singapore is amazing!!!
I forgot to mention that before I had dinner I saw some really strange food sold on the street so I decided to try something. I took the fried banana for tiny S$1.90! Honestly the fried part was kind of disgusting but the banana inside was very special. Really dark in the middle and strong in its taste. Like I said, really good, though. Bruising around no one ever bothered me. No one tried to drag me in their shops and I could just walk around and enjoy what they offered. When it got dark everything looked even more beautiful, with the lights and everything.
Happy I went back to my hostel, sat in the common room with my book. Many people went in and out but after a half an hour I was alone. A really tall blond guy walked in and smiled at me. 'hey', he said, staring at me. 'Heey', I smiled back happily for being greeted so nicely. He went out but after 5 seconds he turned back and went: 'Hey I'm about to have dinner somewhere in town do you wanna come along?'
'Ooh I'm sorry I actually just had dinnee, but thanks'.
His smile disappeared and he left.
I'M SO STUPID.
Seriously!!! How could I have been so dumb?!?! Oh man. It still bothers me... damned.
I continued reading 'the perks of being a wallflower' when I suddenly had the wanting to talk someone. I stood up and looked for someone. There were two guys sitting and I went straight up to them and introduced myself. They were really happy that I talked to them and I learned that they're actually settled down in Australia, Gold Coast, originally from Brasil: Lucas 23 and Valentin 24. Valentin finished his study in law and is a lawyer with 24?! I was not quite sure if I should believe him... Anyway I acted like I did, there's no point in not doing as if I didn't. I'm not sure anymore about what Lucas did. They told me that they want to go out and if I want to come along. I said I was too tired and I want to go to bed. When I was about to enter my room I thought about that I never regret going out with someone so I went back to the Brasilians and told them that I'm ready in 20 minutes. I dressed the best clothes I had because obviously we would go clubbing. I even put on lipstick and surrounded my eyes with black kayal.
We had to take a cab as it already was 23.00 and buses stand still around that time. We shared the costs of the cab and the driver dropped us off at the Quay. The nightlife district/area was just amazing!!! Heaps of bars located under nostalgic houses, these houses were covered by a huge umbrellas over the whole district. They said someone recommended them going to the nightclub Attic, so we went there. As it was ladies night ladies had free entry and two free drinks. I just thought: Are you kidding? The boys payed S$30 each, which is a lot compared to what I've paid. There was a girls queue and a boys queue ten times shorter than mine. I stopd there 20 minutes but fortunatel there was this Chinese girl suddenly talking to me: 'Are you alone?'
'Well, in Singapore yes, but my male friends are standing in the queue over there, but I just met them'. She was quite impressed and as we had a lot of time we talked a fair bit about all sorts of stuff. We found out that she's one day older than me: 06.12.1994. Funny! She had those Chinese teeth, very messy and not really nice... The people who know, know how I am with teeth. hahaha. She was cute anyway. I looked at her bag: Guess. Her earrings: Chanel. Her shoes: Chanel. And I was wearing my white shirt from 'Forever 21'. Anywaaaaay...
When we got closer to the entrance this guy wanted to see our ID's. The guy said to the girl: 'I like your teeth.' That was too much for me, I nearly died. I was choking for five minutes but no one really understood why. I more laughed about the fact that I was just thinking how ugly they were and he was being serious with his compliment... and the other thing, is that a new pick up line to tell someone that you like their teeth? That was so funny. After dancing and me spending heaps of drinks (as I haven't paid anything else already that night) and meeting a thousand Asians we decided to go back to the hostel. I fell in my bed at 4 o'clock and seriously: My night was just awesome!
