I've been in Perth a few days now and I haven't written any blogs yet. I summarise what happend the last few days.
The hostel
I stay in 'the witch's hat', it's a very nostalgic hostel and the employees are the nicest I've ever met. For going to the city I have to take the free bus 'blue cat', which takes me there in 10 mins. A Greek lady who workes there, she's always dressed unbelievably nice, helped my booking some day trips.
I stay in a three bed room with always two other ladies. When I first arrived there was an Austrian girl and an old lady from Sydney, we could talk for hours. Obviously my roomates changed a few times already to Dutch, German and Chinese girls. That room is a bit special, everyone has their own cupboard and plug. What a luxus!
In the common area is always busy with people talking, drinking, playing music and games. Whenever you go there, there's someone you can talk to. Here I met many Italians and less Germans. The other day I talked to a unbeliavably beautiful guy from Israel. He had red hair (a ginger, yaayy) and white eye lashes, which made his blue eyes look amazing. He had a very cute smile, too. We talked a bit but he left this morning, that was it. His name was Dor by the way and he taught me some Hebrew, but I can't remember any. He obviously was in the military but he did more years than he had to, like you can do it in Switzerland.
Haha I feel awkward telling you about so many beautiful people I meet but I reckon it's sort of funny for me, too to read it in a few months and remembering those people.
Rottnest Island
That day didn't start very well... I put on my sports clothes, chucked sunscreen, sunhat and sunglasses in my bag and went to the busstation. Already driven a few busstations I noticed that I had forgotten my purse... So I had to go back but I knew I wouldn't make it to the ferrystation in Fremantle on time. I was about to ask the receptionist if I can go another day when she organised me someone to drive me to the trainstation.
Yayy I made it!
In Fremantle I took the ferry, the ride was awesome. I sat on the deck and enjoyed a picturesque view of the ocean when all in a sudden we saw an 'U-Boot' (don't know the word in English), that was amazing! It was a huge black thing just swimming on the surface. That was amazing, I've never seen one!
Anyway, when I arrived on the island I grabbed a helmet and a bike and drove off very quickly. I had no idea where to go, they gave us a map but as the island was not big anyway I didn't get bothered. I cycled about 15 minutes when I first stopped. All shaking (because I haven't done any sport for a few weeks now) I left my bike next to a tree when I saw my first Quakkas. I was told that I should be careful so I didn't get too close, they're still wild animals. I went to the beach and took a few pics. I drove further to a beach called Salmon beach, that was the most beautiful beach I've ever seen, seriously! Whitsundays compared to that is NOTHING. I think Whitsundays are overrated. I didn't bring any swimmers so I went for a swim in my underwear, I couldn't get bothered. All wet I sat on my bike again and drove for ages. By the way there were some really strange smells on the island, when I got close to some salt lakes I nearly threw up, I had to breathe through my mouth otherwise I would have... But I was all fascinated by the salt lake because around it there was all dried salt, I stood still and touched and tried it, that was a really cool experience, I mean it was the first time in my life I have ever seen something like that.
I made a stop at a supermarked, bought myself some fruits and youghurt. As soon as I sat down to eat it, Quakkas came along and climbed up my legs as I still had some Banana on my lap. That was soo cute but I had to take care that they don't take it, you're not allowed to feed them, otherwise they get sick as it is not their diet. That was hard, though, not giving them a bit.
I had a great day and a sunburn on my neck.
The pinnacles tour
I got picked up from the hostel by Nathan at 7.15 am, I jumped in the bus where already was a girl from Ireland and a veeeery strange guy from Switzerland. He was so handsome but during the day I had the impression he might be mentally disabled or so. He photographed EVERYTHING. Every stone he could find... he wouldn't let out anything. We picked up two more people, two French girls, one in my age and the other one was her mother. We drove to a park first where we could feed kangoroos and pet koalas. We also took a photo with a wombat and could see dingos and emus. I learned a lot about koalas that day. We went further to the pinnacles, which was just amazing. These big rocks coming out of yellow sand and no one knows how they got there. There are about 1 million of them and they wouldn't let any scientist to touch them to find out how they got there. There are some theorys but no one really knows the truth. It was unbelievably hot that day and I used heaps of sunscreen. Nathan showed us a plant and told us that Aboriginees take the leaves after they got bitten by a snake, smashed the leaves between their fingers . But it wouldn't help you, it's just to make you busy while you slowly die. Thats native humour. We had lunch on a really nice spot at the sea, than we drove back. On our way back we made a stop on a sandhill, where we could sandboard. That was amazing!!! I could stand on a sandboard and slide down the sandhill. Of course I fell over a few times and as you can imagine I looked like a sandman (instead of a snowman). I was covered in sand over my whole body. As you may know I don't mind sand. But still I longed for a shower.
My day was awesomeeee!
